CURRENT BARGAINING

We have concluded taking proposals for Grimshaw Trucking L.P. We toured northern Alberta and Yellowknife and we will began bargaining with the employer on this week.

We were bargaining this past week with ENS Monarch for the second round. We met January 19th for one day and we will continue bargaining until we can bring an offer to the members.

UPCOMING

We met Zenith Membership this past week to give them an update on their bargaining. They usually have a very short period of bargaining, and this time has doubled the usual.  We are set to commence bargaining next month, with mostly only monetary issues outstanding.

This upcoming week, we are set to resume bargaining with Progressive Waste.

President Al Porter and Vice – President Wayne Garner are heading to Fort McMurray to deliver the Teamsters donations for the Public and Separate school lunch program as well as the Wood Buffalo food bank.

There will be a monthly membership meeting for Diversified members is this Wednesday in Ft McMurray.
The negotiations with Grimshaw Trucking commenced this past Thursday in Edmonton.

Teamsters Local 362’s monthly Executive Board meeting took place last Friday.

EXCITING NEWS

President Al Porter and Vice – President Wayne Garner spent last week in L.A. doing some marketing with Alberta Association of Motion Picture & Television Unions (AAMPTU). We have been promoting Alberta and our members as a place to shoot the next project to the major studios and other film producers such as HBO, Amazon, Netflix.

We have been meeting with developers for our online dispatch system and that continued this past week. It has been very exciting to see the system starting to take shape.
