Each week Teamsters Local 362 will update our members on the latest news within the local. Make sure you check in to see what is happening in the union.


This week there will be round two of  bargaining with Zenith. The first round was last week with 1 and a half days of talks. Bargaining is going as planned.


There will be a membership meeting this Saturday for UPS South Edmonton.

There will also be meeting this upcoming week for ASIG Edmonton.

Negotiations will start next week for Grimshaw Trucking. Agents have been traveling through Alberta and the Northwest Territories meeting with the membership in preparation of what we expect to be a challenging round of bargaining.

Local 362 belongs to a group named AAMPTU (Alberta Association of Motion Picture and Television Unions) and this week Teamsters Local 362 President Al Porter and Vice President Wayne Garner will be in L.A. on a AAMPTU annual marketing trip.

The group meets with various studios with the goal to promote the Alberta film industry. This is very important as the film industry is a very relationship based business. This week we have nine meetings set with various studios such as Disney, HBO, Netflix and more.

Work continues with the creation of our online dispatch system for our members in our Construction, Pipeline and Motion Picture Divisions. Feedback and input from the membership has played a crucial part in this large project.

On Feb. 17 it will be the Building Trades of Alberta night at the WHL Calgary Hitmen versus Edmonton Oil Kings. It is a labour sponsored that will see an exciting game between the Alberta hockey rivals. There are a few tickets left so call the call office if you would like to join us for what is sure to be a great game!
